Separating computers and users in the tower
Limited space in the tower and the necessity of being able to work highly concentrated without any distractions from noisy computers are the key aspects for removing computers from the tower into a separate server room.
This solution does not only save space in the tower but also reduces the costs for the computers' climatisation. Removing the computers into a dedicated server room makes maintaining them easier than ever and controllers are no longer disturbed by maintenance staff.
KVM extenders are the perfect solution for such requirements. They transmit computer signals in real-time over great distances with no perceptible loss in quality. During their daily work, controllers don't even realize that they operate their computers remotely.
Optical fibres transmit 2 x DVI dual-link, keyboard/mouse, audio and RS232 signals, which are extended from the server room to the controller desk. The solutions for the ATC sector support hardware such as pen-operated Wacom® displays or Barco® displays.
