Function

The CPU switches miniMUX2/4 multi-channel from G&D make it possible to operate 2 (miniMUX 2) or 4 (miniMUX 4) computer from a single workstation (keyboard, display, mouse). Up to 4 video channels per computer can be switched. Through cascading the miniMUX 4 can operate up to 16 computers.

Switching between computers is done either by means of push buttons, hot keys or AdonIS, the Advanced on-screen Information System of G&D.

The devices work with total keyboard/mouse emulation for all channels and ensure error-free booting of a server, as well as the stable operation of all connected computers. By using the password protection (miniMUX 4) in the device, unauthorised operation of the computers can be prevented. The administration of specific user rights is done in the user accounts (up to 8 can be assigned).

Utilisation

is always given when multiple computers need to be operated over multi video workstations.

Installation

Connection to the computer is done on the back side of the device. The computer interfaces for keyboard, video and mouse are connected to the switch by the unmistakable G&D standard cable that is enclosed.

Different lengths are no problem. Along with the standard length of 2 metres, there are also lengths of 3 or 4 metres available, or - for greater distances - active extenders.

Connecting the workstation is just as convenient. Simply insert the keyboard, video and mouse connectors in the intended interfaces - and that's it.

If you use a different interface other than PS/2 or USB that's not a problem. Just order a corresponding adapter. Mixed operation is also possible of course.
