Origins

The TripleMUX was created in close cooperation with the technical staff and traders of the WestLB bank for utilisation in areas of the trading rooms, thus in conjunction with their legacy technical equipment. The following definition of requirements was derived from the job description:

The switch must be able to operate 4 computers with multiple graphic cards 1 x keyboard/mouse and 3 x monitor
Connection of the computer to the switch without turning off the computer (hot plugging) must be possible
Utilisation of standard computer interfaces keyboard, video and mouse
It should be freely selectable as to with which computer presenting a video combination can be worked with using keyboard/mouse
Switching combinations for the video outputs should be storable in the device (scenario creation, max. 8)
The calling up of these scenarios on the three monitors should be possible by means of a hot key or OSD
Quick switching of the keyboard/mouse within every scenario by means of QuickKeys, with a visual display of the status in the OSD on the respective screen
Access should be password protected; password protection should be activatable upon leaving the console (LogOff function)

By means of the integrated AdonIS, the user can optimally adapt the system to suit the needs of his special working environment. The TripleMUX offers, for example, this scenario settings:

8 freely definable combinations for the video inputs (3 of 12 each) are storable as video scenarios in the TripleMUX
Free assignment of a keyboard/mouse to one of the computers displayed in a scenario
Keyboard/mouse assignment also switchable within a scenario per hot key at any time (QuickAccess)
Free naming of the video scenarios

Utilisation

The TripleMux can be deployed whenever the peripherals in the working environment should be reduced for reasons of space.

Application...

...for the TripleMUX is wherever a user's particular operating conditions require quick, straightforward computer utilisation with a space-saving minimum of peripherals. This is the case in such traditional areas as investment banking or treasuries, for example, but also in control rooms or network control centres. Basically, just 1 keyboard and 1 mouse are required for all computers.

Installation

Connection to the computer is done on the back side of the TripleMUX. The computers are connected to the switch by a G&D compact connection cable for 1 x keyboard, video and mouse and a standard VGA cable.

Different lengths are no problem; 1, 2, 4, 6 and 9 metres are available.

Complementary products

The ideal combination product for use with the TripleMUX is the CATVision/MC. With the CATVision/MC-System you can place the required CPUs in a central equipment room and just transmit the required signals to the console via CAT-x cables.

Variety

For applications with more than 12 video sources there is the QuadMUX available. 16 video inputs can be read out on 4 monitors in virtually any combination.
