KVM switches - operate several computers by one console
Make your workplace more efficient with KVM switches from G&D. The switches allow the operation of several computers with only one mouse, one keyboard and up to four screens.
This peripheral saving solution increases user-friendliness and ergonomics at your workplace. In addition, they often form the basis for setting up redundant systems in different control room applications.
KVM switches in the focus
A KVM switch is a keyboard video mouse switch. KVM switches are stand-alone devices. They can also be combined with our other KVM solutions. Many computers are connected to a KVM switch, which can then be operated via one workstation (monitor, keyboard, mouse and other peripheral devices). By cascading several KVM switches, it is possible to switch and operate up to 64 computers from one workstation.
The KVM switches thus make it possible to operate several computers with only one mouse, one keyboard and up to four screens. This periphery-saving solution increases user-friendliness and ergonomics at your workplace. In addition, they often form the basic for setting a redundant system in different control room applications.
The computer will be connected on the back of the device. The computer interfaces for keyboard, mouse, audio and USB are connected to the switch via the non-interchangeable standard cables. The workstation connection is just as convenient. Simply connect the keyboard, mouse, speakers and USB devices to the corresponding interfaces. The supplied LED sets are attached to the monitors.
During operation, an illuminated LED indicates the monitor of the computer on which the keyboard/mouse focus is switched. The permanent emulation of keyboard and mouse signals on the "inactive" computers guarantees trouble-free operation. The settings are stored separately for each computer.
The systems differ mainly in the number of computers to be connected and the type and resolution of the video interfaces (VGA, DVI or DisplayPort).
To display workstations with two, three or four screens, our KVM switches are also available as multi-channel variants in addition to the single-channel variants.
Switching is done via keys on the KVM switch, hotkeys, the OSD or externally via the RS232 interface. Depending on the variant, you can switch and operate between two and 64 computers from one workstation.
The number of computers to be controlled can be increased by cascading the devices. Monitor, keyboard, mouse and other peripheral devices are connected directly to the KVM switch. LEDs or on-screen displays let you know which computer you are currently on.
Complex applications require the simultaneous work of several users and administrators on different computers. This requirement can be realized by our KVM matrix systems.
