Encouragement in challenging times

The bad news in the Corona Crisis comes around every day. The example of the Siegen-based company Guntermann & Drunck GmbH (G&D) shows that you don't have to put up with it and that you can make good news yourself.

ASB Kreisverband received a donation of 3,000 €.

The manufacturer of IT peripheral systems for extending and switching computer signals made a donation of €3,000 at the beginning of March in recognition of the voluntary commitment of the Siegen rescue dog team. The rescue dog team is used in the search for missing persons or in natural catastrophes, e.g. earthquakes in search of buried people.

The members of the rescue dog team are available around the clock.

The members of the rescue dog team are available around the clock. Voluntarily and without payment. This great commitment to the common good of our region was now honoured by the local medium-sized company from Leimbachtal. Manuela Enders, volunteer employee of the rescue dog team in Siegen, accepted the donation, which will be used for the upgrading of the local group's emergency vehicle, with thanks: "By upgrading our emergency vehicle, we will be able to work according to regulations again. In addition, by purchasing materials for the first aid courses, we have completely new possibilities to present ourselves in the Siegerland, which would otherwise have remained closed to us"

Fast help where it is needed

The local group rescue dog team Siegen belongs to the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) Kreisverband Witten. For more than 100 years now, the ASB has stood for humanity and fast help where it is needed. Whether driving services for elderly people, home emergency call, at the rescue station or as help for participation in social life - without the commitment of the thousands of volunteer Samaritans throughout Germany, many things would not be possible anymore.

The local manufacturer of KVM hardware for IT use is active worldwide and is considered one of the hidden champions in the region. "Even though we operate worldwide, we have been firmly rooted in the region for 35 years now. For us, the donation is a small contribution to the recognition of the indispensable commitment of volunteers in our region", summarized Rolland Ollek, Managing Director of Guntermann & Drunck GmbH.
