KVM trends at InfoComm 2019
InfoComm, Orlando, USA, 12-14 June 2019, booth 5249

In addition to their sophisticated KVM portfolio, they will display an absolute innovation in terms of IP transmission: the ControlCenter-IP, a matrix system for KVM-over-IP™, which enables distributed switching of computer signals over standard IP-based networks. Being highly flexible and scalable, the system’s video quality is lossless and features near-zero latency.
The IP-based system consists of the central ControlCenter-IP unit and a series of IP extenders that form a powerful matrix for KVM-over-IP™ transmission. The system excels with flexible transmission via CAT or fiber optic cables over standard IP-based 1Gbit/s networks.
Cutting-edge technology to extend 4K signals over IP networks
In their new system, the German manufacturers implement state-of-the-art technologies and thus guarantee not only pixel-perfect video transmission and best hand-eye coordination, but also the transmission of high-resolution 4K signals over IP. Resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 @ 60 Hz are supported. In addition to solutions for DP 1.2, the company also offers modules for DVI single and dual link as well as DP 1.1 with support for all common resolutions.
Therefore, customers can expect lossless images at the best possible performance. In addition to IP-based systems, G&D also specialize in classic KVM systems. At InfoComm, the manufacturers will present relevant installations and furthermore show how their KVM systems seamlessly work with common control and monitoring systems such as KSC Core. G&D’s systems provide an integrated IP control API. This way, the matrix can be controlled via network to carry out switching commands and to monitor the system’s condition.
The sophisticated G&D portfolio continues to grow with another innovation – the RemoteAccess-CPU, which the manufacturers will present as a first showcase at InfoComm. The device will be available for series production in the fourth quarter of 2019.
With the RemoteAccess-CPU, G&D are picking up on the increasing virtualization of the AV workflow and are enabling the seamless integration of virtual machines in KVM installations. Using the new modules, you can set up hybrid systems with real and virtual infrastructures that are extremely intuitive to operate. With a standardised overview, operators simply select the desired source, regardless of whether the computer is available in the server room or in the cloud
What else to expect at G&D’s InfoComm booth
Another KVM superlative at G&D’s booth will be DP1.2-VisionXG – a KVM extender to extend high-resolution 4K and 8K video signals at 60 Hz – uncompressed and latency-free. The system transmits 8K resolutions up to 10,000 m via fiber optics and will provide an insight into the use of KVM systems in gaming and e-sports.
